Projects The squadron takes part in a number of different projects once a month, the cadets get to choose what project they take part in. The projects and the details are listed below: Shooting The cadets take part in shooting every project evening, gaining marksman qualifications and improving their shooting techniques. Aircraft Recce Aircraft recce is a classroom based project, with cadets looking at aircraft photos and diagrams. There are trips run to local RAF bases, local aircraft museums and even places such as Duxford for the whole squadron. Press The press group concentrates on the making and updating of the squadron website, newspaper articles and squadron photography. Model Making The modelling group makes a variety of aircraft and other vehicles for both fun and for competitions. The group is currently working on a diorama of a desert RAF base, which has several cars and aircraft. Pictures will be on here soon. Radio Radio use is often a very useful skill to have, and is used on expeditions and local exercises. The cadets are taught how to correctly use the radios by a qualified instructor, and get to take part in radio based games and exercises. |
