Civilian Committee

The Civilian Committee exists to support the unit’s fund-raising activities, administer it’s accounts, liaise with local authorities and other bodies, promote the unit through the media, and assist in the administration of it’s Headquarters.

Recent achievements and activities include:

• Organising a bag-pack at the town’s supermarkets.
• Securing an ‘Awards for All’ Lottery grant for computer equipment.
• Organising a raffle and providing catering at the Squadron’s Open Evening.
• Running plant and cake stalls in the town centre.
• Securing a Local Network Fund grant for additional camping, climbing, training and radio equipment.
• Holding barbeque’s at the unit’s Easter ‘Bull Session’ and annual sport afternoon.

 The committee usually meets for a few hours one evening, four to five times a year.

Members of the committee have received Regional Commandants Commendations in recognition of their work and involvement with the Squadron over many years.
